Welcome to The Copyright Hub
The Copyright Hub is making licensing simpler. Our website can help if you want to get permission to use somebody else's work, or want to know about how copyright relates to your own work. We are also building technology to help copyright work the way the internet works, making the process of getting and giving permission quicker and easier for everyone. The site has more information about this as well as copyright generally, our vision and our organisation.
The Copyright Hub welcomes feedback as we evolve and expand our website. If there's anything you'd like us to add, anything you'd like to know or if have any other thoughts or questions about what we're doing, please get in touch.
An introduction to copyright
Copyright gives creators the right to decide how their work may be used and who may use it. It affects how you use work created by other people.
Recent policy changes
Copyright law and policies often change. Visit the website of the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) for more information.
There are international agreements to provide protection for authors and creators while allowing their work to be translated, produced and enjoyed by audiences worldwide.
The Copyright Hub launch event
On 30th July 2015, Intellectual Property Minister Baroness Neville-Rolfe became the first public user of The Copyright Hub.
What's copyright for?
So...you've created something. You're a copyright owner! But what does that mean, how can you use your rights and who can help?
